Maximizing Student Engagement and Musicianship in Today's International School Music Classes: Five Strategies for Immediate Success!
Teaching music in international schools is different than the US. In my work in all of the international teaching conferences and over 25 on-site professional development visits internationally, I have tried to assist educators (choral and instrumental) in "maximizing student engagement and musicianship" in their ensembles and international music classrooms. How international music teaching is different than US schools will be explored based on my and your teachers' experiences. Two areas (Engagement and Musicianship) go hand in hand. You can’t have one without the other. I believe these five strategies are what all great music teachers incorporate, even if stated in different ways. These strategies can be incorporated in the "next day" of their international music teaching.
